Comprehensive Stroke Care Center
The NYU Langone Comprehensive Stroke Care Center offers patients a complete range of services and specialists for the accurate diagnosis and rapid, effective treatment of stroke. To round out the continuum of care, our expert physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians and therapists help patients recover from the physiological impact of a stroke.
NYU Langone Medical Center was named Manhattan’s first primary stroke center in 2005, and today it is recognized as one of the leading centers of its type in the region and the country. For the past four years, we have been awarded Gold Plus designation from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association as part of its Get With the Guidelines® program. That award, the program’s highest, recognizes hospitals that use the most up-to-date practices and procedures for the treatment of strokes.
NYU Langone was also named one of the top ten hospitals nationally for its neurology and neurosurgery programs in the 2013-14 US News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings. And, since 1989, Rusk Rehabilitation, which provides rehabilitation services for our stroke patients, has been ranked by US News & World Report as one of the top ten rehabilitation programs in the nation and number one in New York.
